HAPPY PRIDE!

With their beginnings as a march in the streets in June 1970 to commemorate the beginnings of the gay rights movement (which the Stonewall riots helped precipitate the year prior), pride marches--many of which happen during the month of June--have developed across the world, growing in size and scope over time. These marches have helped make the entire month a very special time of celebration, education, and reflection for the LGBTQIA+ community.

If you'd like to learn more about why the Stonewall Riots were so monumental and remain an important reminder to the community today, we recommend that you take a few minutes to listen to this truly incredible audio documentary from 1989, featuring interviews with patrons, passersby and others who were there. After all, we best honor our elders' past progress by remembering their work so that we can continue the push for equality for all today.

While Pride means different things to everyone, many folks use this time to amplify their loved ones, their community, and themselves. In the spirit of that celebration, you might find yourself going to all sorts of parties, barbecues, outings, and impromptu hang-outs during this month. And what's a party without dope music?!

So, we wanted to share a playlist in loving celebration of the season:

(Before you ask, uhhh, YEAH, we've been bumping it any chance we can get!)

And, of course, we wouldn't be here without any of you; the contributions of our amazing community of artists are many. Don't forget to check out our LGBTQIA-themed designs, which you can make your very own, on products ranging from stickers, to totes, to phone cases, to muscle tanks...you get the picture:

So, no matter where you are on your personal journey--whether this is your first Pride or your 48th--we see you, we respect you, we love you, and we wish you a very safe and happy Pride.

Let's keep partying until #20BiTeen (...that's not a thing yet, but let's make it one!),
In Solidarity, TeePublic
