Description: Hot 'n Now was an American fast-food restaurant chain based in Holt, Michigan. Founded in 1984, the chain once grew to more than 150 locations throughout the United States at its peak. Subsequently under the ownership of PepsiCo, the chain filed for bankruptcy in 2004, and was then sold to STEN Corporation. The majority of the chain's locations focused entirely on drive-thru service, featuring a small-footprint building with a tall, slanted roof style. Some previous locations were more traditional fast-food locations, complete with seating, and others were combined with gas stations.

Description: The now defunct Sveden House made chicken wings famous before they were famous! Along with the tasty wings, the Sveden House was known for their apple fritters, baked chicken, bread pudding, carrot/raisin salad, glorified rice, salad bar, roast beef (carved for you at the end of the buffet), and their famous Swedish meatballs. Female employees were required to wear a uniform that resembled something a Swedish maid might wear: blue ruffled dress, nylons, white apron, white puffy-sleeved shirt, and white shoes. Nowadays, uniforms like these would be considered ‘sexist’, causing them to be picketed and banned!

The club was on the ground floor of the Kenneth Hotel at 701 First Avenue, near the corner of Cherry Street, a building originally built as the Safe Deposit Building after the Great Seattle Fire of 1889, replacing the 1884 Merchant’s National Bank Building on the same site. Jim Wilke hosted Thursday night broadcasts from the club for KING radio.
