Description: El Centro is a city in Imperial County, California that is located 113 miles from San Diego and less than 20 miles from the Mexican city of Mexicali. El Centro is the most populous city in the Imperial Valley, and also the most populous U.S. city to lie entirely below sea level at −42 feet. The city is a gateway to several major attractions, so whether you're heading out to the Imperial Sand Dunes, the Salton Sea, or even the Carrizo Gorge Wilderness, you're going to need some provisions. Located right off of California State Route 86 in the heart of El Centro, House of Spirits was one of the better places to gather necessary supplies for decades, and ensured that any outing had plenty of everything... and lots of ice.
