Description: A battered transmission from an imaginary Northern department where repetition is procedure and printing errors are policy. Built from fractured type, industrial linework, bureaucratic marks and xerox-worn textures, this piece channels the stubborn visual disorder of late-'70s and early-'80s British post-punk ephemera.
Description: A distorted signal from the industrial heart of Northern England. Inspired by the jagged rhythms, caustic wit, and beautifully chaotic spirit of Mark E. Smith and The Fall, this vintage xerox-style artwork channels the grit of early '80s Manchester post-punk. Raw typography, fractured cityscapes, and underground attitude collide in a tribute to music that never played by the rules.
Description: Bend Sinister was the third and last Fall album to be produced by John Leckie. When recording began, the band was without a drummer, as Karl Burns was fired shortly before sessions began. Ex-member Paul Hanley stepped in at first before permanent replacement Simon Wolstencroft was found. However, Leckie and Mark E. Smith argued during the recording, with Smith complaining that "he'd always swamp everything, y'know, put the psychedelic sounds over it". Leckie, for his part, drew the line at Smith's insistence that some tracks be mastered from a standard audio cassette that Smith had been carrying around and listening to on a Walkman.
