Nirvana Cards
Description: Inspired by the raw melancholic energy of the grunge era, this piece features a gritty high contrast illustration of a solitary drink in a vintage setting. With its worn out textures and bold rebellious typography, it perfectly captures the spirit of underground indie rock culture.

Description: The Off Ramp Cafe was a dive situated in an odd no-man's land corner of downtown Seattle. it was trapped between a concrete off-ramp from southbound Interstate 5 and the tangled intersections of Eastlake Avenue, Stewart Street, and John Street, and wedged below a massive wall of the Denny Way bridge over I-5. Finding the rather small 300 person capacity joint was a challenge and parking was near impossible, but those factors didn't prevent the venue from being a destination for bar patrons and indie music lovers alike. The venue was at the heart of the grunge explosion in the ’90s that changed Seattle and music forever

Description: The mid-'70s was a great time to be a vanner as van customizing shops were literally everywhere, offering everything from complete conversions to aftermarket parts and installations. NirVANa Customs of Chula Vista was no exception, and was probably best known for having the largest selection of custom porthole windows in America. Manufactured on site, NirVANa's portholes were first class and were available in nearly 100 different shapes. In addition to their SoCal shop, they did extensive mail order through vanner and hot rod mags.
Description: On Saturday, November 22, 1947, a war-surplus shop called Chubby & Tubby at 3333 Rainier Avenue S. held its Grand Opening in Seattle. The business -- which is initially based in a set of metal military Quonset huts on a corner lot (formerly site of a Signal gas station) in Seattle's Rainier Valley neighborhood -- had actually been open for about five weeks. But it seems that the two rotund owners -- Woodrow ("Woody") "Tubby" Auge (d. 1989) and Irvin "Chubby" Frese (d. 1997) -- still had a few organizational wrinkles to iron out before making things official: In fact for those first five start-up weeks the company was actually called "Tubby & Chubby."
Description: The OK Hotel was a cafe, bar, and music venue located under the viaduct in Seattle's Pioneer Square district. Founded in 1988, the club came to an end with the Nisqually earthquake of February 28, 2001, which damaged numerous buildings in the historic district. Most widely recognized outside of Seattle as a prominent location in the movie Singles (1992), the OK Hotel was one of numerous active Seattle rock venues during the celebrated local scene of the late eighties.
Description: The year was 1994—a good time for music, and an especially good time for music in Seattle. Indie bands were playing, and people actually wanted to hear them; national and global acts were touring and actually wanted to stop in Seattle and THE place to play was the Moe or more formally, Mo'Roc'N Café. The design celebrates the long lost Club Moe with it's vintage clown logo which might seem a bit odd, but was right at home with the venue's eclectic interior design. Featuring plenty of cracks, chips and fade, Mo'Roc'N Café tee looks like you snagged it back in the day at a Mudhoney show or something.
