Panel Van Cards
Description: Similar to Holden's Sandman panel van, the Sundowner featured bright colours and sharp paint work, bubble sharp window, spoiler, driving lights, sports steering wheel, driving lights, alloy wheels with XC and XD panel vans receiving the treatment. Escort and Transit van variations were also sold. Featuring a 351 Cleveland motor, the Sundowner wasn’t particularly focused on performance - rather a cruiser for young drivers. Now highly sought after for restorations and with parts hard to come by the Sundowner is rising in value together with the Sandman as well as Chrysler’s version titled the Drifter. Description: The HQ model replaced the HG Holden. It was the first ground-up redesign of the Holden line since its original release in 1948, and included an all-new body, chassis, and suspension. 'The HQ model Monaro's new coupé design had a much larger rear window and a squarer rear quarter window; it was somehow seen as not as sporty looking compared to the earlier HK-HT-HG series, but is often now considered one of the best looking body designs to come from an Australian manufacturer.'
