Description: The Dunes Cantina opened its doors in 1936 at 16232 Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, California. It was dive bar that maintained it's wild west roots and was really only known to the few regulars that called it home over the decades, but that all changed after it got a cameo appearance in the 1979 horror movie, Phantasm. Of course, a few minutes of screen time in a cult classic flick doesn't exactly change a place's fate, as it only stuck around a few more years before becoming a sushi joint in 1983.
Description: Phantasm depicts a dreamlike interior where familiar forms lose their meaning. Floating spheres, distorted reflections, and rigid geometry exist in quiet suspension, as if frozen inside a half remembered dream. The space feels playful at first glance, yet subtly unsettling — a visual echo of imagination, memory, and subconscious order breaking apart. This artwork is inspired by surrealism, dream logic, and abstract spatial storytelling. Designed to stand out on apparel, Phantasm invites viewers into a world that feels recognizable, yet impossible to fully grasp.
Description: Phantasm is a 1979 American science fantasy horror film that was locally financed with a cast and crew that were mostly amateurs and aspiring professionals. The self-titled first film in the franchise, introduces the Tall Man, a supernatural and malevolent undertaker who turns the dead of Earth into dwarf zombies to be sent to his planet and used as slaves. He is opposed by a young boy, Mike, who tries to convince his older brother Jody and family friend Reggie of the threat.
