From humble beginnings in a small-town drugstore, Tower eventually became the heart and soul of the music world, and a powerful force in the music industry. In 1999, Tower made a cool $1 billion, yet in 2006 the company filed for bankruptcy before slowly disintegrating before our collective eyes. This design is from the 30-year anniversary celebration of the iconic Sunset Strip location, which opened in 1971 on the northwest corner of Sunset Boulevard and Horn Avenue in West Hollywood. Description: Founded in 1994, Man's Ruin Records was a trailblazing independent label based in the Bay Area, known for its diverse catalog and fiercely artist-first philosophy. Home to both underground and emerging rock talent, the label stood out by rejecting traditional music industry practices—opting for handshake deals over contracts, 50/50 profit splits with artists, and short-term licensing agreements that ensured bands retained full ownership of their work. As one of the most influential DIY record labels of the 1990s, Man's Ruin supported creative freedom above all. The label faced challenges during the Dot-Com boom, including outgrowing its distributor and losing its lease, ultimately closing its doors in 2002. Despite its short run, Man's Ruin
