Description: Depeche Mode's 1986 album "Black Celebration" marked a significant shift in the band's musical direction. Departing from their earlier synth-pop sound, the album embraced a darker, more atmospheric style that incorporated elements of gothic rock and industrial music. The album's title track, "Black Celebration," set the tone with its brooding, melancholic melody and lyrics exploring themes of despair and disillusionment. Other standout tracks like "A Question of Lust," "Fly on the Windscreen," and "It Doesn't Matter Two" further showcased the band's newfound sonic experimentation and lyrical introspection.

Description: ARP Instruments, Inc. was a Lexington, Massachusetts manufacturer of electronic musical instruments, founded by Alan Robert Pearlman in 1969. It created a popular and commercially successful range of synthesizers throughout the 1970s before declaring bankruptcy in 1981. The company earned a reputation for producing excellent sounding, innovative instruments and was granted several patents for the technology it developed.
Description: The OB-1 is a simple and great monophonic synth from Oberheim based on the same synth architecture as the SEM. Released in 1978, it was the first truly programmable analog synth of it's time with 8 program memories. Classic and fat sounding bass & lead synth sounds. Similar in sound and synthesis from the Roland SH-101 to the MicroMoog. It has two analog oscillators and a very capable 2 or 4 pole switchable VCF (filter) that sounds great, and a good LFO that can control the VCA or VCF. This is a very versatile monosynth, especially during its time, and makes an interesting alternative to other more common bass-synths. It has been used by Tangerine Dream, Rush, Vince Clarke, and The Grid.
