War Protest Cards
Description: The '60s were a wild time to be alive! The sexual revolution was in full swing, and a generation distrustful of the government formed a counter-culture the valued art, music, and free love over and above norms that would make them tools of the traditional capitalist culture. At the same time, not all was well in the world. The war in Vietnam raged on, to mixed sentiment at home. "Make Love, Not War" became a rallying phrase of the anti-establishment peace movement much to the chagrin of the older generation. Upon seeing young protestors take the slogan to the streets of California, Ronald Reagan famously remarked: "Those guys look like they can't make either of both." Ouch.

Description: The March Against the Vietnam War was held April 17, 1965. The student activist group Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) held its first anti-Vietnam War protest rally in Washington, DC. It was co-sponsored by Women's Strike for Peace. 25,000 attended, including Joan Baez, Judy Collins, and Phil Ochs. The host was I. F. Stone. He began by proclaiming: "Welcome to Washington." One of the two Senators who voted against the Tonkin Gulf Resolution that gave credence to U. S. involvement in Vietnam spoke (it was either Greuning or Morse). After the speeches and music the crowd started to move toward the Capitol, down the Mall from the Washington Monument. Joan Baez and some others intercepted the impromptu march (probably because they tho...

Description: John Lennon: Working Class Hero — Framed in stark defiance, John Lennon’s gaze confronts a system rigged for profit and war. His quote—“They hate you if you’re clever…”—cuts through generations of manipulation, where the rich pit the poor against each other. Now, with Trump dragging America into war without consent, democracy hangs by a thread. This image becomes a protest sigil—Lennon as prophet, warning us: working people don’t crave war; they’re conned into it by profiteering sociopaths. It’s a call to resist before the chorus of freedom becomes silence.
Description: Bold white lettering with purple outlines states "THEY GOT MONEY FOR WAR BUT CAN'T FEED THE POOR." Red splatters and stylistic lines frame the text against a black background. The lettering has a graffiti-like style.

This piece renders the American flag not as decoration but as war paint — stars and stripes streaked across a warrior's face, with the words of the Constitution woven into the stripes themselves. It's a visual argument: the fight to protect freedom, democracy, and constitutional rights isn't history, it's happening now. Part protest art, part portraiture, this design speaks to anyone who believes liberty has to be actively defended, not just inherited. Wear it as a statement of resistance, patriotism, and civic resolve. From the American War Paint collection by
