Third letter of the Italian alphabet, dating back to the range of the Chalcid alphabet (Greek-Western) originally valid only for the sound g, ambivalent in the ancient Latin for gek, from classical Latin onwards valid only for the voiceless veiling consonant, the so-called c hard. In Italian it has three values: occlusive consonant velar deaf in the groups ca, co, cu, in front of consonant and in final position (eg click); deaf palatal affricate consonant in the ce, ci groups; deaf palatal fricative consonant in the sce groups, sci, by its means differentiated by itself, yes.
