Fighter Hats
Description: The 53d Fighter Squadron was relieved from assignment to the 36th Operations Group on 1 February 1994. It was in non-operations status until it was assigned to the 52d Operations Group (52d FW) at Spangdahlem Air Base on 25 Feb 1994. At Spangdahlem the squadron supported no-fly zone operations over Bosnia and northern Iraq and other combat operations. It was during the squadron's support of the no-fly zone in northern Iraq that two of its fighters were involved in the 1994 Black Hawk shootdown incident.

Description: In 1973 the Fairchild-Republic Company of Farmingdale was selected to build the A-10, the first Air Force plane specifically designed for close air support. Designed for the accurate delivery of ordnance at low altitude, the A-10 is the most heavily armed, and armored, plane in history.
Description: The biggest, fastest, baddest single-engine jet fighter ever! That was the F-105 Thunderchief. "Thuds" were the USAF's go-to strike bomber during the Vietnam Was, and could carry a heavier bomb load than a WWII B-17. They also had the highest number of gun kills during the war. F-105 crews flew against the most dangerous and heavily defended targets during the war, and nothing could match their blistering low altitude speed. I've put my rendering of the F-105D on a tee shirt that you can proudly wear in remembrance of one of the greatest fighters ever flown by some of the bravest men to ever get into a cockpit.
Description: The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is an American carrier-capable supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, twin-tail, variable-sweep wing fighter aircraft. The Tomcat was developed for the United States Navy's Naval Fighter Experimental (VFX) program after the collapse of the General Dynamics-Grumman F-111B project. The F-14 was the first of the American Teen Series fighters, which were designed incorporating air combat experience against MiG fighters during the Vietnam War.
Description: This striking vintage graphic features the iconic P-47 Thunderbolt (also known as the "Jug"), one of the most powerful fighter planes of WWII. The design incorporates the bold "ACES HIGH" slogan and is finished in a distressed, weathered style that mimics a classic military patch or propaganda poster art. Perfect for veterans, pilots, aviation history buffs, military enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates the power and legacy of the legendary Thunderbolt. A fantastic gift for Father's Day or birthdays!
