Description: One of the more popular species to keep as pets, ball pythons, or Python regius, lives in regions of africa. They typically live in termite mounds and eat rodents. While typically seen as cursorial animals, they have some arboreal tendencies and, very rarely can be seen climbing trees. They have been deemed the pet "rock", but P. regius, like any other species benefits greatly from enrichment. In addition, they do indeed benefit from larger enclosures as long as the enclosure consists of many hides and heat gradients for them to bask or take shelter.
