part 2 of my dogs of war illustrations. This time it's a Sherman tank with a crew full of fuzzy hounds. The Sherman was a medium tank manufactured in America and fielded by the allies in WW2. This version is a firefly which is a British modification sporting a different turret and a 17 pounder gun that was more capable of knocking out a heavy German tank like the Tiger than the standard Sherman armourment.

The Russian made T34 was one of the best, most rugged and practical tanks of ww2. This fighting vehicle was innovative and easy to mass produce. Although not the best tank of the war, in great numbers it was an effective weapon and one of the best fielded by the Soviet Union. Design made from a mixed media painting of IS-3 Stalin Tanks by Katarzyna Kmiecik. I know those are horrible weapons of war, but you have to admit that they have certain kind of beauty and nice proportions.

This is from a project I did in 2014. It was basicly based on some ideas I got from listening to Jean Michel Jarre's Magnetic Fields album. Which in turn made me understand something really profound. The album has 5 tracks, so I made drawings for each one of the tracks. This is for the 5th and last track. A happy rhumba. I have the drawing I made for the 4th track available here too. Many thanks to Svein Arild Kristiansen who helped photographing the drawing. It was way too big to fit in my scanner. Thank you for watching!

“Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night’s Watch, for this night and all nights to come.” Such an awesome story… I just wanted to do something related.
