This Pope Francis shirt is for Catholics who realise that liberation theology should be the core of their belief system.

Initially the diocese was part of the Archdiocese of New York. It became a diocese in its own right on April 23, 1847.

On April 8, 1808, Pope Pius VII erected the Diocese of New York, taking territory from the Diocese of Baltimore. The initial territory of the Diocese of New York encompassed all of the State of New York and Sussex, Bergen, Morris, Essex, Somerset, Middlesex, and Monmouth counties in northeastern New Jersey

The Diocese of Rockville Centre was split off from the Diocese of Brooklyn April 6, 1957. St. Agnes Cathedral is the seat of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Walter P. Kellenberg, former Bishop of Ogdensburg served as first bishop of the diocese from 1957 to 1976.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester began on March 3, 1868, when Pope Pius IX entrusted eight counties within the Diocese of Buffalo to Bernard J. McQuaid, the first bishop of Rochester.

After the Revolution the area came under the Apostolic Prefecture of the United States, which became in 1789 the Diocese of Baltimore.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo was established April 23, 1847. It was set apart from the great Diocese of New York and the See located at Buffalo on Lake Erie, the territory comprising nearly one-third of the State of New York.

The decision was made to form the diocese of Syracuse, which took place on November 20, 1886. Rev. Patrick Anthony Ludden, former vicar general of the Diocese of Albany, was named Bishop
