Description: The Snow Leopard lives in the mountains of Central Asia. Snow leopards prefer the broken terrain of cliffs, rocky outcrops, and ravines. This type of habitat provides good cover and clear views to help them find prey, and sneak up on it. There are only about 3,920 and 6,390 snow leopards left in the wild. They are threatened by Poaching of the cats as well as their main prey animals, limiting their resources. This has been pushing them to prey on livestock and has caused more conflict between the beautiful cats and the local people.

Description: The snow leopard (Panthera uncia), occasionally called ounce, is a species of large cat in the genus Panthera of the family Felidae. The species is native to the mountain ranges of Central and South Asia. It is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List because the global population is estimated to number fewer than 10,000 mature individuals and is expected to decline about 10% by 2040.
