Alter ego is another side of a person’s personality that differs from their true identity. The term comes from Latin, meaning “another self.” Alter ego is often used to describe a character or persona that someone adopts in certain situations, either consciously or unconsciously. In psychology, an alter ego can refer to a dual personality or an alternative identity that develops within a person. In the world of art and entertainment, alter egos are often used by artists or public figures to create a different character from their real selves. For example, many musicians or actors have alter egos to showcase a different side of their personality on stage.
