Description: New Yorker Hank Soloff opened The Coach and Six in 1962 as what many consider to be the first fine dining establishment in Atlanta. It was known for the celebrities, the cheese toast and the shrimp scampi, but all told, the entire menu was exquisite, and you couldn't go wrong with a night at The Coach and Six. Hank’s wife, Beverlee, operated The Coach and Six after he died unexpectedly in 1974. The restaurant changed hands a few times, but in 1997 it closed for good after the building was sold, and yet, even decades later, Atlantans still reminisce about how unbelievably good the place was. From first dates and prom night dinners to anniversary celebrations and places to propose, The Coach and Six was THE place to go.
Description: This design is a hand-drawn recreation of vintage matchbook art from the defunct Chick-N-Box restaurant, once a beloved local spot on Holcombe Avenue at The Loop in Mobile, Alabama. Featuring a charming rooster pointing towards the words "See the Fabulous Room," it captures the spirit of the restaurant's cocktail lounge, which was known for its lively atmosphere, live music, and social gatherings. Chick-N-Box replaced the Tiki Supper Club, carrying forward the location’s tradition of great food and entertainment.
