Description: Bonaire is a Dutch island in the Leeward Antilles in the Caribbean Sea about 50 miles off the coast of Venezuela that is best known for amazing snorkeling and scuba diving among the island's fringing reefs. When a trio of resident divers decided to open a bar in the island's capital of Kralendijk in the late '90s, they opted for a real 'dive bar' and created a diving themed venue. Naming it De Octopusreep (The Octopus Bar) after the many octopus found in the waters around Bonaire, the bar's waterfront location and unique theme became a popular place to grab a beer after a day exploring the Bonaire National Marine Park.

Description: Inheriting land at Needwood in Maryland at an early age, Outerbridge Horsey - yes, that was his name - about 1839, determined not just to farm it, but to establish a distillery. His initial operations appear to have been small with mainly local whiskey sales, in keeping with the Maryland farmer-distiller traditions of that era. Horsey’s method of aging his whiskey was unusual for the times and brought fame to his operation. He sent barrels via ship around Cape Horn to San Francisco and then by railroad back to Maryland for bottling. His theory was that sloshing around inside barrels on the high seas mellowed and aged the whiskey in beneficial ways that sedentary storing in warehouses failed to do.
Description: The Peter Hand Brewing Company was an American brewery established in 1891 by Prussian immigrant, Peter Hand, in Chicago, Illinois. The brewery continued to grow and though it was officially closed between 1920 and 1933 as a result of prohibition, the company survived and expanded several times. In 1965, an investor group purchased the brewery and renamed the company Meister Brau, intending to further expand and begin national distribution. The company spent heavily on marketing, particularly in their hometown of Chicago, and sponsored all the local sports teams, as well as a popular radio show. When the brewery closed in 1978, it was the last brewing company in Chicago.
