The Scottish Fold comes in a long haired and short haired variety and are known for their rounded bodies and large owl-like eyes. When a Scottish Fold kitten is born without the ears lopped forward they're known as the Scottish Straight, which is considered its own breed. Both Folds and Straights carry the gene for weakened cartilage which can affect the cat's whole body not just the ears.
