High Mugs
Description: The pent up energy and unbridled passion of a playground ball game can barely be replicated on a professional level. Kids, momentarily released from their daily prisons are reduced to mammals in motion, relying more on instinct than skill, survival of the fittest plays out everyday for 20 beautiful minutes of recess.
Description: Inspired by the Man in the High Castle, a symbol of resistance against the Kempeitai and the Japanese Occupation of the West Coast of the USA. I've made a few other works inspired by MitHC. This one is a reimagining of graffiti spotted throughout San Francisco, and probably the rest of the Japanese Pacific States. The sinister silhouette of a man wearing a black fedora is seemingly vandalized by a red symbol. Who is the shadowy figure? Is it an allegorical kempeitai officer? Is it the Man in the High Castle himself?
