Description: Azienda Generale Italiana Petroli (AGIP) was established in Rome in 1926 under the auspices of the Italian government for the purpose of exploring, exploiting, and distributing Italy's underground resources. After the discovery of oil at Cortemaggiore near Piacenza in 1952, the then president of the state-owned company, Enrico Mattei, decided the company needed a logomark. The new logo depicted a stretched-out figure of a six-legged black dog with large red flames issuing forth from its mouth set against a yellow background and would go on to appear on service stations throughout Europe and in countless placements as a sponsor of a wide range of motorsports and events.
Description: Celebrate the thrill of European motorsport with this aggressive Italian superbike illustration. Designed with a striking 2D comic-art style, this graphic features a rosso corsa sportbike complete with a single-sided swingarm and trellis frame set against a bold Italy typography backdrop. Perfect for track day riders, motorcycle enthusiasts, and fans of high-speed racing gear.
Description: Gilera was an Italian motorcycle manufacturer founded in Arcore, Italy in 1909 by Giuseppe Gilera. In 1935, Gilera acquired rights to the Rondine four-cylinder engine which was, at that time, the world's most powerful engine with 60 hp. After World War II, Gilera dominated Grand Prix motorcycle racing, winning the 500 cc road racing world championship six times in eight years. Facing a downturn in motorcycle sales due to the increase in the popularity of automobiles after the war, Gilera made a gentleman's agreement with the other Italian motorcycle makers to quit Grand Prix racing after the 1957 season as a cost-cutting measure. After withdrawing from competition, Gilera changed direction and began to focus on motocross and off-road.
