Description: This design reflects being caught between two worlds: The Harley Cafe Racer XLCR was only built in 1977 & '78, and I was fortunate enough to get my hands on one before they became expensive. Most Hog drivers don't care for cafe or sport bikes, and most cafe racers don't ride Harleys. During Bike Week at Myrtle Beach, I got no nods of acknowledgment or waves from Harley riders because they thought I was riding a rice rocket due to the bike's styling. I was an outcast and learned to ride with no leader, no pack... just the open road, because every rider deserves to ride like a free man, so I embraced the solitude on the roadways.“Ride Free. Ride Alone.” or “No Pack. No Master.”

Description: What do you get when you mash up hot rods and monsters? In 1980, the answer would have been Weird Wheels trading card stickers. Featuring a checklist of colorful creations along the lines of the late '60s Odd Rods cards, the set blends Kustom Kulture with matinée horror. The cards themselves have monsters and other creatures driving absurdly customized cars, trucks, and motorcycles. As cool as the cards looked, they came out at a time when the Kustom Kulture was well past its peak, and the set flopped, but that doesn't mean they're still not cool! This one features the reaper from the outer packaging tearing it up in his '37 DeLuxe Cabriolet.
Description: Johnny's Speed & Chrome got their start in Buena Park, California as a traditional speed shop selling all kinds of go fast parts and dress up goodies for street racing enthusiasts. From hot rods to muscle cars, Johnny's had it all, including used parts, some of which were still warm when placed on the shelf. Towards the late '70s and throughout the '80s, they changed their focus to air cooled imports and dune buggies, giving Johnny's Speed & Chrome it's second wind. While the quality of their chrome earned them the nickname 'Johnny's Flake & Peel' locally, Johnny's was a southern California institution that still holds a special place in the hearts of many old school enthusiasts.
