Description: Golden Axe is a 1989 arcade beat 'em up by Sega where players choose one of three fantasy heroes—Ax Battler (barbarian), Tyris Flare (amazon), or Gilius Thunderhead (dwarf)—to defeat the tyrant Death Adder, who has stolen the titular magical axe and captured the king. The game features side-scrolling combat, magic spells powered by magic vials, and unique mountable beasts, all set in a high-fantasy world inspired by movies like Conan the Barbarian.
Description: Carter Carburetor Company in St. Louis, Missouri, was established in 1909 by William Carter, who started experimenting with carburetors while running a successful bicycle shop. His first cast brass carb could meter and deliver fuel more accurately than many competing units, and easily found a place in the market. Carter became a major OEM supplier to Detroit. In 1971, they introduced the ThermoQuad four barrel. It was available in two sizes, rated according to air flow – 850 and 1000 CFM. The higher flow model was the largest street carburetor in terms of air flow when released, and was a factory part on many of the muscle cars of the era. Gear heads have a love/hate relationship with ThermoQuads, in that they either love or hate them.

The incredibly deep use of Chernobly as the movie’s core plot device at first made it my top choice for converting to real-life product: Corddry spills Chernobly on the hot tub controls which is how they go back to WinterFest 1986, then some Red Dawn obsessed party adversaries steal their last can and they can’t get back until they recover it. Meanwhile the Chernobyl nuclear disaster occurred in real-life 1986. And as we all know from Back To The Future, time travel won’t work without some sort of nuclear-level energy. A deep plot device indeed.
