Mongolia Mugs
Description: One of the most derived individuals in a long line of herbivorous theropod dinosaurs, Therizinosaurus stands as one of the most unique dinosaurs ever discovered. Standing tall at 15 feet, this incredibly robust animal could use its incredibly specialized forelimbs to rake entire tree branches with significant force and pluck the lush foliage down at its leisure. These incredibly reinforced limbs could presumably be used in a number of functions, such as courtship or threat displays. They once roamed ancient Mongolia's riverbanks; once fully grown, they would be immune to predation from any animal in its habitat , and due to niche partitioning, presumably didn't compete with the other herbivores directly, potentially giving it an vital role

Description: I have used as inspiration for this painting the famous fossil of 'Big Mamma', an oviraptor unearthed in the Ukhaa Tolgod of the Gobi Desert, who died trying to protect her nest. Truly, these small bird-like dinosaurs are inspirations to us all. First described in 1923 by Roy Chapman Andrews, director of the New York Natural History Museum and real-life inspiration for Indiana Jones, the name of this dinosaur literally means 'egg thief', as the fossilised animal was found close to a nest of prehistoric eggs. In the years since we have realised that these Mongolian dinosaurs were not thieves at all, and the eggs they were found lying upon were their own.
