Description: American Pharoah This painting is of the 12th Triple Crown Winner, American Pharoah. He was the winner of the 2015 Triple Crown of American horse racing. Prior to his win, there was a 37 year drought as no horse was able to win all three races, the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness Stakes and The Belmont Stakes. The last winner before American Pharoah was Affirmed in 1978. This Triple Crown was extra special to me as it was the first in my lifetime. I would watch the races every year hoping for another super horse. While he may be no Secretariat, he still is pretty special.
