Along with Black Midi, Squid, Shame, Idles or Girl Band, Black Country is one of the most interesting rising hype bands that mixes rock, punk, post-hardcore and jazz with influences of Scott Walker, Slint, Arcade Fire, Neutral Milk Hotel or Godspeed You Black Emperor among many others. Their second album, Ants from Up there marked a departure from the obscure noise-rock and post-punk of their debut towards a more folksy and beautiful post-rock with spaces for a lot of silences and slow building climaxes.
