Description: The Westward Ho opened in 1963. By 1997, it included 777 rooms, a 35,000 sq ft (3,300 m2) casino, and a 900-seat showroom. The Westward Ho closed on November 17, 2005, and was demolished several months later to make way for redevelopment plans which failed to materialize. A McDonald's opened on a portion of the former Westward Ho property in 2008.
Description: Flamingo Capri, the motel before Imperial Palace, built an Asian-themed tower known as the "Imperial Palace Tower". The tower was incredibly different from the motel's intended tropical theme. At the time of opening, the resort included Court of a Thousand Treasures, a four-story shopping arcade with 60 stores, overlooking the east end of the 30,000 sq ft (2,800 m2) casino. The Auto Collections opened in 1981, on the fifth floor of a new parking garage. Now defunct the Imperial Palace was an Asian-themed hotel and casino located left of the Flamingo on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Description: Luke Gray (UK) is a travelling surrealist painter specializing in large scale paintings on walls and canvas. Born colour blind he was forced to use an almost exclusively black and white palette, working with patterns and textures rather than colour. He draws from traditional Asian decorative arts as well as art nouveau and symbolist painters.
Description: The Lady Luck was a staple of downtown Las Vegas for over 40 years. But the economic downturn that hit many gaming establishments finally forced it to close its doors in 2006. Several investors tried to remodel and reopen the iconic facility but it sat vacant until 2013 when it was rechristened as the Downtown Grand.

The Mint Las Vegas was a hotel and casino in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The Mint was the sponsor of the Mint 400, the largest off road race from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s. The Mint was made famous (or infamous) as the first night's stay in Hunter S. Thompson and Oscar Acosta's legendary 1971 weekend trip to Las Vegas, immortalized in Thompson's novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
