Description: Veni Vidi Villon – I came, I saw, I couldn’t find the snows of yesteryear. A play on words, based on the poem “Ballade des dames du temps jadis” (“Ballad of the Ladies of Times Past”) by François Villon, and its interrogative refrain “Mais où sont les neiges d’antan?” (“But where are the snows of yesteryear?”) – a comment on the ephemeral nature of fame. Featuring a photo I took of the tree opposite our house in the depths of winter, covered in snow.
