Description: This is an image of the ceiling of the Assembly Room within the Buxton Crescent. We were wandering around Buxton when it was mentioned to us that the room was going to be open to the public that morning. It was quite something to see, and not something that is normally openly available as it is a function space within a hotel. It would seem that the room was originally a ballroom when Buxton Crescent, a crescent shaped building in planform, was built in the early 1700s. It would have been a place for entertainment for wealthy visitors who were there to 'take the waters' at the spa. History aside, the room is spectacular. I do hope you enjoy the image.

This playful design turns a familiar computer dialog box into a clever geek joke, blending retro computing, internet culture, and everyone's favorite blue cookie-loving monster. Inspired by classic 90s operating systems and pixel aesthetics, it's the perfect illustration for programmers, developers, IT professionals, gamers, and anyone who has clicked "Accept Cookies" without a second thought.

Description: Within the confines of Prague Castle, St Vitus Cathedral stands and dominates the skyline. But within, its Gothic interior is sublime; it captures the mind. This image showcases the vaulted ceiling above the nave. To its sides gothic arches rise from the floor with clerestory windows above to provide abundant illumination. What I love about this image is the perfect symmetry with only the varying tones in the stonework to differentiate one side from the other. You have to give it to them, the people who built such a beautiful structure, they really understood their geometry and how to reproduce it in stone. Wow!
Description: I have a love of medieval cathedrals; they speak so natively to the deep faith of the people who laboured so long ago to create such spectacular places of worship. Peterborough Cathedral, in England, is such a place. This image is of the incredible fan-vaulted ceiling of the "New Building" that was added beyond the apse during the early 1500s. I understand that as an architectural style, fan-vaulting was an English style, which emerged during the 14th century. It is quite something. What I love about this image is the strong converging verticals leading up to the conoidal fans, and the delicate illumination from lead-lighted windows on the limestone vaults. You gotta love it!
Description: A colorful cartoon-style graphic shows a brown ship with gold trim and a white sail featuring a black skull and crossbones. The ship has circular windows. Below the vessel, the words "PIRATE" and "CREW" are stacked in a bright, multicolored font. The aesthetic is simple and playful.
Description: We had been staying in Buxton, Derbyshire, primarily to spend some time in the Peak District National Park. However, we also knew of Buxton's history as a spa town, the Midland's answer to Bath, and couldn't help but notice some of the grand building around the town. Buxton was a destination town for those who wanted to take in the spa waters, but when not bathing, a grand opera house would be a fine addition, nay a cultural highlight, of such a visit. The opera house, according to Wikipedia, was built in 1903. What I love about the image, is the dynamic viewpoint I was able to obtain, where a wide angle let me capture the main elements of the building's facade. Anyway, I do hope you enjoy the image.
Description: A stylized, geometric representation of a multi-story hotel building with a prominent palm tree on the left. The hotel features pastel pink, cream, and teal sections, with vertical stripes and numerous dark windows. The word 'HOTEL' is displayed in bold white letters at the top.
Description: A monochromatic, stylized representation of a building identified as "Bill Knapp's". The structure features a prominent gabled roof with shingles, dormer windows, and a central cupola. Large windows and doors line the storefront level, with the text "Bill Knapp's" visible on two facade sections. The overall aesthetic is architectural and stark.
Description: A dark scene features a modern, angular skyscraper with glowing orange windows. In the foreground, silhouetted red flowers with glowing centers emerge from a dark base. The text 'DEPECHE MODE' is on a red bar at the top left, and 'BLACK CELEBRATION' is on a red bar at the top right.
Description: This is an image of the courtyard at the western end of the Prague Castle complex. Today, the castle is the official residence of the Czech president, well at least a small portion of it is, as the complex is huge. Apparently, it is the largest ancient castle in the world, going back to the 10th century, with most of it being open to the public, for a fee. I have to say, it didn't feel very castle-like, but did feel very palace-like. When we were there, so were a lot of other visitors, so getting this image required a bit of a wait. I hope the wait was worth it!
