Description: Reflection on the dark floor of the oculus high above. A bit more about this amazing underground cistern: Portuguese Cistern - El Jadida Expanded since 1514, this former warehouse (possibly an armory) was converted into a cistern in the sixteenth century. The cistern is famous especially for the thin layer of water that covers the floor, and which creates fine and everchanging reflections from the little light there is and the spartan shapes of the columns and the roof. It was discovered almost by chance in 1916. Overhead is an oculus, open to the sky. The combination of the water on the floor and the light from the ceiling creates beautiful and spooky reflections and shadow-play.

Description: A few intriguing shapes and textures and patterns of various walls encountered during my daily trips and walks in the City of Tegucigalpa, Honduras (some with a questionable paint job if I may add).
