This design is based on a historical photographic in the public domain taken by a member of the American armed forces. The plane is unpainted as supplies at the time were very low and the need for the fighter in combat was high so plane were rushed into service without a colour scheme.
Description: VF-1 Wolfpack - Fighter Squadron 1 (VF-1) was a fighter squadron of the United States Navy. Originally established on 14 October 1972 it was disestablished on 30 September 1993. It was the fifth US Navy squadron to be designated VF-1.[1] Known as the "Wolfpack" the squadron saw combat during the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm.
