The text translates to: "The dead of the Paris Commune have risen again under the red banner of the Soviets!” In essence, the artwork claims that the defeated revolutionaries of Paris Commune of 1871 have been vindicated by the October Revolution, and that the martyrs live on through the new Soviet Union.
