Folklore Shorts
Description: "There will be no expectation, just reputation" Inspired by the lyrics from Dancing With Our Hands Tied, and the empowering energy of the Reputation album, this is dedicated to the darker sides of our lives. My hope is that this piece serves as a reminder that there is power and beauty in the rumors, the negativity, and the people who choose to bring us down.
Description: Cryptozoology is a pseudoscience and subculture that aims to prove the existence of entities from the folklore record, such as Bigfoot, the chupacabra, or the Mokele-mbembe. Cryptozoologists refer to these entities as cryptids, a term coined by the subculture. Because it does not follow the scientific method, cryptozoology is considered a pseudoscience by the academic world: it is neither a branch of zoology nor folkloristics. It was originally founded in the 1950s by zoologists Bernard Heuvelmans and Ivan T. Sanderson.
Description: The Kappa is a Japanese legend or Yokai, this lake creature is often seen as mischievous or sometimes malevolent. This design was inspired by the story of the Kappa and is the first of a line of tees based on yokai. *this is the original design with lighter lines for dark colors*
Description: An oni is a kind of yōkai, demon, orc, ogre, or troll in Japanese folklore. They are believed to live in caves or deep in the mountains. Oni are known for their superhuman strength and have been associated with powers like thunder and lightning, along with their evil nature manifesting in their propensity for murder and cannibalism. They are typically portrayed as hulking figures with one or more horns growing out of their heads, massive teeth, and occasionally a third eye in the center of the forehead.
Description: Embrace the darker side of Christmas with the iconic Krampus. This detailed graphic captures the legendary horned horror of Alpine folklore, complete with his menacing chains, sharp horns, and birch switches. As the brutal counterpart to Saint Nicholas, this design is the ultimate statement for those who celebrate Krampusnacht and love gothic horror and mythological figures. A fierce and commanding addition to your "The Winter Pantheon" collection.
