Description: The Osborne Computer Corporation (OCC) was an American computer company and pioneer in the field of portable computers. Byte was purchased by in 1979, an event that led to many of the early computer magazines being swooped up by larger publishers. Like many magazines, Byte suffered in the '90s due to declining ad sales, leading to the publication's demise in 1998.
