Description: The Denver Bears were a minor league professional baseball team dating from the 50's until 1983 when the team was renamed the Zephyrs. There was an earlier Denver Bears team playing in the Western League from 1901 to 1954, but this logo is from the team that played at what became known later as Mile High Stadium, but was originally known as Bears Stadium, after the team.
Description: These British four-wheel-drive vehicles are nearly unstoppable and while they have deviated considerably from their roots in recent decades, the classics still have a huge fan base and are very much on (and off) the road around the world. When it comes to keeping these utes running, it takes a specific and that's where Weatherford Service comes in. Since it's founding by British expat Carl Weatherford Sr. in 1981, Weatherford Service has become the go-to shop for repairs, rebuilds, and modification to customer vehicles from across the United States and Canada.
Description: The Burning is a 1981 American slasher film that follows a summer camp caretaker who is horribly burnt from a prank gone wrong, leaving him to seek vengeance at a nearby summer camp years later. The screenplay is loosely based on the New York urban legend of the Cropsey maniac, and was theatrically released on May 8, 1981 by Filmways. While the film did not generate the interest nor revenue achieved by other slasher films at the time, it has since become a cult classic and received positive reappraisal from film critics.

Description: Silicon Graphics, Inc. (stylized as SiliconGraphics, and later rebranded as SGI) was an American high-performance computing manufacturer founded in Mountain View, California in 1981. SGI was dedicated to manufacturing high-performance workstations, software design, and supercomputers for professionals specializing in 3D graphics. At its peak in the '90s, Silicon Graphics had legendary status among 3D artists and graphic designers who leveraged the unique power of these workstations as they were at the bleeding edge of visual computing. The '90s also saw Silicon Graphics workstations become the go-to workstations in Hollywood, with SGI machines contributing special effects, post-production work, and 3D animation to over 40 major productions.
Description: US-1 Electric Trucking was a series of slot car sets and accessories that were available in the '80s. Similar to HO-scale slot car racing sets, US-1 centered around heavy trucks and transporting cargo from point to point. In addition to the basic operation of driving the trucks around the track, US-1 featured an innovative turnout that the trucks could reverse into, backing them off the main track into various terminals where trucks could be loaded and unloaded. Many of the terminals were fully automated, either jumping into action when the truck clicked into position or requiring the truck to be further reversed into the action area to 'power' the accessory. In addition to the core sets, there was a complete catalog of US-1 accessories.
Description: I based my composition on the iconic cabin, the car and of course the demonic possessions themselves. Using a few reference images from the film, I managed to work together this composition and set to work painting it. Because it's a horror piece and should reflect the hand crafted aesthetic of the movie, I worked quite rough on a lot of this painting, going for a more expressionist take than my usual approach. I'm very satisfied with the final piece and especially with the title treatment added to the piece, I think it works really well as a retro horror poster that would fit nicely to the original marketing.
Description: If you were a BMX rider in the '80s, you probably recall Rockville BMX. Based in Rockville, Maryland, even if you weren't a local or even a north easterner, you definitely saw their ads in every major BMX magazine, and probably even sent away for their catalogs. Whether you were into freestyle, dirt jumpers, or traditional racers, Rockville BMX had you covered. In addition to their general catalogs, Rockville also published several dedicated catalogs for most manufacturers, as well as some for the aforementioned styles of BMX. The shop hosted countless trick shows and exhibitions in their parking lot, and being a well known national mail order operation, took the show on the road as well.
Description: Caveman is a 1981 slapstick comedy film set in the Stone Age. The promotional tagline of "back when you had to beat it before you could eat it..." pretty much sums up the kind of humor one might expect from this flick. The plot centers around Atouk, who is disgraced and cast out of his tribe for lusting after Lana, the mate of the tribe’s head muscle man, as he stumbles along gathering other misfits and learning a bit about the world outside of his cave. Eventually he and friends Lar and Tala learn the secrets of fire, cooked meat, and how to defend themselves from the brutal, yet very stupid dinosaurs. The film was poorly received overall, but even the harshest of critics admitted that it had it's moments.
Description: The Allis Company was a major manufacturer of farming and industrial equipment in the United States for most of the Twentieth Century. Allis was headquartered in Milwuakee, Wisconsin, with a major tractor factory in nearby West Allis (a town named for the company). Financial difficulties led to dissolution in 1985 and the farm equipment operations were sold off to a German firm. Tractor production continued under German ownership until 1989.
