33 Socks
Description: Larry-Bird was a famous basketball star who played for the Boston team. He was known for being a great shooter and a very smart player. He helped his team win three big championships and was named the best player in the league three years in a row. Even though he had a bad back and had to stop playing, people still remember him as one of the best to ever play the game.
Description: I started this mini-series back in 2016 and, honestly, didn't know what the end result would be. At the time, I was just cranking them because they were fun, and I completed one within a few hours. The majority of the Skulls and Buddhas series are either 4x6 or 5x7 inches. It always seemed to me that the symbolism of skulls and the Buddha (in a meditative pose) is similar. In the practice of sitting meditation, we confront the inescapable reality of impermanence, and the skull often symbolizes mortality. The simple fact that we will have to face our own last breath.
Description: I love making symbols in many patterns and colors. This series is my dragons in drag, because they’re all dressed up and fit to kill! Please know that these designs are not meant to insinuate that people who love dragons or who identify with them are lgbtq+, queer culture, or dress up in drag although it’s just fine if they do. It’s just a fun artistic gesture!
