Description: BluesWay Records was an American subsidiary label of ABC-Paramount Records, begun by Bob Thiele in 1966. Artists such as John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed, Jimmy Rushing, Otis Spann, and T-Bone Walker were among those who signed for the label. BluesWay released B. B. King's 1969 Live and Well and Completely Well albums, the latter containing his hit "The Thrill is Gone". The label also released the James Gang's first album, 1969's Yer' Album.
Description: Shindig! was an American musical series which aired on ABC from September 16, 1964 to January 8, 1966. This was must-watch TV for us 60’s teens. The show was hosted by Los Angeles disc jockey Jimmy O'Neill. The pilot episode featured Sam Cooke, The Everly Brothers, and The Righteous Brothers. Many other popular performers of the day played on Shindig! including Sonny and Cher, The Beach Boys, James Brown and The Supremes. Some shows were taped in Britain with The Beatles. Other "British invasion" bands featured on the show including The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Dave Clark Five, Freddie and the Dreamers, The Animals and Herman’s Hermits. Shindig!'s success prompted NBC to air a similar series Hullabaloo starting in January 1965.
