Ape Socks
Description: My final watercolour painting for this current set of of Animal and Nature pieces. This piece probably looks the most different from my original take of the animal, This time I opted for a more heavily shadowed tone and less attention to detail, just letting the paint do the work.
Description: Power Records released a series of Planet of the Apes stories using their 'Book & Record' format in 1974, each of which covered one of the four films that had been released at the time. Like other Book & Record offerings, the sets included a 45 rpm record and a comic book. The record narrated the comic through sound effects, audio dialogue, and a backing soundtrack. In addition to the 45 rpm versions, a 12" 33 rpm compilation record combining all four Arthur P. Jacobs films adapted by Power Records. Like other Power Records' Book & Record sets, the Planet of the Apes are highly desirable collectables, not just due to their pop culture value, but because complete sets with both the record and comic are hard to come by.
Description: Following the events in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes," Cornelius and Zira flee back through time to 20th Century Los Angeles, where they face fear and persecution similar to what Taylor and Brent suffered in the future in "Planet of the Apes," and discover the origins of the stream of events that will shape their world. This design is based on the movie poster from the Japanese release on July 31, 1971.
