Description: "Hotel Donaldson Fargo ND" I knew nothing about this hotel when I photographed this sign; it just caught my eye. What I learned later: Originally built in 1893 by the Odd Fellows Lodge after a fire destroyed much of downtown Fargo. In the mid-1900s, it became a hotel and went through many owners over time. Around 2000, the hotel, which was in great disrepair, was bought once again by another owner; renovations began to bring it back to life, and it was reborn as a modern luxury boutique. I transformed my original photograph with a subtle painterly effect, creating photo art while preserving the scene I experienced.
