Description: Coast Guard Station Chatham, Massachusetts. The station was the origin of the famous 1952 Pendleton rescue. Feb. 18, 1952, four men risked their lives in a howling nor'easter off Cape Cod to save 32 mariners on the shipwrecked tanker Pendleton. Subject of 2016 American historical drama-thriller film "Finest Hours".
Description: In 1979 George Brush and Herbert Putnam partnered with Carly Simon to open the Hot Tin Roof on Martha’s Vineyard. It quickly became a hangout for the SNL crowd, James Taylor’s family and a place where anyone from Keith Richards, Walter Cronkite, John Travolta to Jackie Kennedy Onassis could be spotted. Before they were the Blues Brothers, Belushi and Ackroyd polished their act at the Hot Tin Roof. You’d hear Bonnie Raitt, Delbert McClinton, Ricky Nelson, Leon Russell, Jesse Colin Young, Martha Reeves, John Popper, Martin Mull, Maria Muldaur, the Roches, and Pat Benatar. Playing The Roof became a box that needed to be checked on many artists’ “I played at” lists. And a must-stop visit for anyone vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard.
Description: Remembering the Christmas Tree Shops, which operated 72 stores in 20 U.S. states, primarily in the Northeast. In 1970, Charles Bilezikian and his wife Doreen opened the first Christmas Tree Shops in Yarmouth Port, MA on Cape Cod. The original location comprised three separate buildings: the Front Shop, the Back Shop and the Barn Shop (which mostly sold penny candy), hence the pluralization of the store's name. The first complex was on Route 6A. In the mid-1990s, Christmas Tree Shops introduced a series of commercials in which the chain's customers were recorded showcasing items they purchased, paired with the soon-to-be famous jingle, "Don't you just love a bargain?"

Description: Get ready for an adventure with Quint, where a bigger boat is a must! Embark on a thrilling fishing charter from Martha's Vineyard, where you'll be on the hunt for Jaws. Don't forget to bring along some lunch, a bit of chum, a can of worms, and your fishing gear. Just remember, life jackets won't save you on this expedition!
Description: Remembering The Skipper restaurant (1921 to 1984) on Steamboat Wharf, Nantucket with this distressed font item. The Skipper was a Nantucket island summer institution, located partly on an old coasting schooner alongside the wharf and partly in a building on the pierside. Such wonderful memories of our family dinners there, feeding seagulls and watching the boats come and go.
