Description: The 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, nicknamed the "Six Triple Eight", was an all-black battalion of the Women's Army Corps (WAC). The 6888th had 855 black women, both enlisted and officers, and was led by Major Charity Adams. It was the only all-black, all-female battalion overseas during World War II.

Description: Compton is a city in the South Los Angeles region. It is the 7th oldest (by incorporation) and 16th most-populous in Los Angeles County. Future presidents George H.W. and George W. lived there in 1949 and '50. It is famous for the Compton Cowboys of Richland Farms and the Compton Cricket Club, among other things.
