The USSR's pavilion was a massive show stealer that was by far the biggest exhibit at Expo, occupying an acre and a half of Havermale Island. Visitors were greeted by a colossal sculpted map of Russia outside the pavilion, which weighed over two tons, and were treated to "I visited the Soviet pavilion!" tchotchkes ranging from t-shirts and bags to posters and pins.
