Miami Cigarettes Socks
Main Tag:

Description: Anyone who has spent much time in the Middle East is most likely familiar with Miami cigarettes. Like many others in the region, this Jordanian cigarette brand is named 'Miami' to an effort to appeal to Americans serving in the Middle East and like most cigarettes produced in the region, these were extremely harsh and far from a pleasant smoking experience, but at $5 USD a carton, they were considered a bargain whether purchased from the many local bazaars in town or from on-base stores.

Description: The 92nd Infantry Division was an infantry division of the United States Army that served in both World War I and World War II. Organized in October 1917 at Camp Funston, Kansas, the unit was formed with African American soldiers from all states. Before leaving for France in 1918, the buffalo was selected as the divisional insignia due to the "Buffalo Soldiers" nickname, given to African American cavalrymen by Native Americans in the 19th century. The "Buffalo Soldiers Division" divisional nickname was inherited from the 367th Infantry, one of the first units of the division organized. This segregated unit was the only African American infantry division to see combat in Europe during World War II, as part of the U.S. Fifth Army, fig...

B2 - Spirit - Stealth Bomber AC Socks

Description: The B-2 Spirit is a multi-role bomber capable of delivering both conventional and nuclear munitions. Along with the B-52 and B-1B, the B-2 provides the penetrating flexibility and effectiveness inherent in manned bombers. Its low-observable, or "stealth," characteristics give it the unique ability to penetrate an enemy's most sophisticated defenses and threaten its most valued, and heavily defended, targets. Its capability to penetrate air defenses and threaten effective retaliation provide an effective deterrent and combat force well into the 21st century. The blending of low-observable technologies with high aerodynamic efficiency and large payload gives the B-2 important advantages over existing bombers.

Vietnam Combat Vet Door Gunner - Air Assault w Fire w VN SVC Socks

Description: The concept of the door gunner originated during the Vietnam War, when helicopters were first used in combat in large numbers. The original personnel who served as early door gunners aboard CH-21, UH-34, and UH-1 helicopters in Vietnam, were enlisted men, with a designated and specially trained crew chief serving as both the aircraft's maintenance manager and a door gunner. Normally, a second enlisted soldier served as a second door gunner (such as on a UH-1, and UH-34, which both used two gunners – one on each side of the aircraft). Later, as the war progressed, the door gunner position sometimes used a non-aviation rated/trained soldier or marine, that volunteered for door gunner duties.

Cold War Veteran w COLD SVC Socks

Description: The Cold War was a period of geopolitical tension between the Soviet Union with its satellite states (the Eastern Bloc), and the United States with its allies (the Western Bloc) after World War II. The historiography of the conflict began between 1946 (the year U.S. diplomat George F. Kennan's "Long Telegram" from Moscow cemented a U.S. foreign policy of containment of Soviet expansionism) and 1947 (the introduction of the Truman Doctrine). The Cold War began to de-escalate after the Revolutions of 1989. The collapse of the USSR in 1991 (when the proto-state Republics of the Soviet Union declared independence) was the end of the Cold War.

Vietnam - 1969 tet offensive Socks

Description: Tet 1969 refers to the attacks mounted by principally forces of North Vietnam and Viet Cong in February 1969 in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War, one year after the original Tet Offensive. Most attacks centered on military targets near Saigon and Da Nang and were quickly beaten off. Some speculate that the attacks were mounted to test the will of the new U.S. President Richard Nixon who retaliated by secretly bombing Communist sanctuaries in Cambodia the following month. Numerous U.S. bases were breached, these attacks were all beaten back but did inflict casualties and reinforced the fact that Communist forces were able to mount attacks at will. Intelligence had indicators of the pending attacks. On 19 February, a Hoi ...
