Description: Air Kentucky was a commuter airline based in Owensboro, Kentucky. It was also known for a time as Owensboro Aviation. It began operations in 1974, and joined the Allegheny Commuter system for Allegheny Airlines, and later USAir Express. The airline ended its operations in 1989. The airline was mentioned in the film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou; one of the main characters, Ned Plimpton, is a pilot for Air Kentucky, however, in the film Ned mentioned that the airline was based out of Louisville, Kentucky.
Description: Named after the Student Corps of Germanic university cities, and brewed in Covington, Kentucky, Student Prince Beer began brewing in 1933 after the end of Prohibition. The signature brew was a sparkling Amber ale produced in what was known as Baden style of brewers from Rhine River Valley wine country of Southwest Germany. The first ads for Student Prince called it the aristocrat of beverages, and the royalty of bottled beers. It was also described as a beer brewed for those who know good beer. Ads described a sparkling amber beer, made with toasted, or kiln dried hops, with a subtle hop flavor, and that it, despite the modern brewing equipment, was slowly aged in oak barrels, a signature of Baden style brewing.
Description: The venerable Humpback Bridge lays claim to being the oldest of Virginia's remaining covered bridges. Located in Alleghany County, just west of Covington, it was built in 1857. It was part of the James River and Kanawha Turnpike and succeeds three other bridges at the site. It stretches over Dunlap Creek, a tributary of the Jackson River that joins the Cowpasture River near Iron Gate to form the James River.
