Description: The series is based on a 19th century theory called Ontogeny Recapitulate Phylogeny. It is the idea of an organism going though it’s history of its species during growth and development. I have this concept in my mind since A.P. Biology in High School, and also goes along with my interest in the process of metamorphosis. Description: This piece is about the divine aspect of birth and celebrates our understanding of the act of creation in both the physical and non-physical sense of the word. I was inspired by the fascination surrounding the Venus of Willendorf statue and others like it and the interplay of earth, air, fire, water, and spirit.
