Description: Inspired by japanese mythology and art, this design depicts a kitsune, fox spirit. According to japanese folklore all foxes are supernatural beings – after reaching a certain age, they can shapeshift into human form in order to help or decieve men. With age they grow additional tails – in some tales after they are gaining their ninth tail, they turn into a tenko, a celestial fox and they ascend to the heavens.
Description: The Mongolian Death Worm is one of the more mysterious, yet popular Asian cryptids. Known as the Olgoi-Khorkoi in Mongolia, the name translates to “intestine-worm.” The creature got its name from its appearance and length. The creature is said to be red in color, and long, resembling a cow’s intesintine, hence its name. The creature is said to remain hidden under the sand for most of the year, except for June and July. It is truly a spectacle, when it does come out and feed. The creature is said to rise up from out of the ground, exposing itself completely. Description: The series is based on a 19th century theory called Ontogeny Recapitulate Phylogeny. It is the idea of an organism going though it’s history of its species during growth and development. I have this concept in my mind since A.P. Biology in High School, and also goes along with my interest in the process of metamorphosis.
