Carolina Western Express maintained a scheduled two-day transcontinental service from the Carolinas to California while also pioneering nationwide less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments.
Description: Trans Western Express (TWE) opened its doors in the early '70s and hit the ground running to become one of Canada's largest LTL trucking companies. Based in Toronto, TWE ran Canada from coast to coast and heavily advertised their daily service to Western Canada. TWE would eventually begin making inroads into North America, but were eventually absorbed by a larger carrier network and the Trans Western Express name was retired in the early 2000s.
Description: The Fredericton Express were a professional ice hockey team based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. They played in the American Hockey League between 1981 and 1988. The Express were affiliated with the Quebec Nordiques and Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League. In 1988, the Express played in the Calder Cup Finals, where they lost to the Hershey Bears. During the summer of that year, they moved to become the Halifax Citadels.
