Description: Stringbag Salute, the Royal Navy aircrew salute on a flypast at RNAS Yeovilton with the White Ensign flying proudly. The Fairey Swordfish was given the nickname Stringbag, not because of its biplane struts, spars and braces, but because of the seemingly endless variety of equipment that the aircraft was cleared to carry. Like a shopping bag, it could carry anything!
