Before his presidency, he was a leader of the American Revolution that achieved independence from Great Britain and served as the first vice president of the United States. Description: Benjamin Franklin: A Republic Is Not Self-Kept —‘A Republic Is Not Self-Kept” confronts viewers with Benjamin Franklin in stark black ink and warning-red hues. His weary gaze transcends nostalgia, recalling his famous words—“A republic, if you can keep it”—not as a challenge but as a lament. The bleeding red evokes both the signatures of the Constitution and the flags of weaponized patriotism. More than a portrait, this piece becomes a civic autopsy, indicting selective outrage, institutional sabotage, and the erosion of democratic vigilance.

Description: I have made several variations of this design based on the Preamble of the United States Constitution. For my original design, I hand lettered "We the People" based on the original lettering (my lettering is not an exact copy, but I tried to be faithful to the original document). For the body text, I used the elegant Edwardian Script. To this version of my design, I added a faded, tattered Betsy Ross flag, which represents the trials and tribulations our republic has endured. I do not use AI to create my work, please support artists who actually draw and paint their own designs.
Description: This quote is from a famous, much quoted letter from Thomas Jefferson to his friend John Taylor, dated May 28th, 1816. It was in protest of the imposition of the so-called Second Bank of the United States, the central bank which destroyed us. But notice that Jefferson wasn't saying idiotic sound bites like, "end the Fed." He saw ALL banking establishments as a danger to our liberties. It makes one ponder who really wants his statues pulled down and the real reason why. His words are more urgent today than even in 1816. Any purported econmy subject to interest inevitably terminates under insoluble sums of falsified debt. We don't borrow money from banks and not even the falsified laws that have been imposed upon us can demonstrate so.
